Space Ship

Here is a space ship I modeled for a side project that is getting closer and closer to being complete.  The ship is modeled and UV’d ready for textures.

A Short Year

In a year that was filled with graduation, Modeling environments, side projects, graphic design, weapons and characters, my most successful endeavor was bettering my 2D.  Even though I’m coming from a traditional background, I still concentrated in environments, so I never took the time to really sit and learn things like anatomy and coloring techniques.  If anybody has seen my gallery before, the first half of the following picture was what I originally had in my gallery.

That very same picture was used in a game pitch presentation for our main character a little over one year ago.  The second half of the picture was made for a possible re-boot of the project in the near future.  Even if it is just the one picture in this post, you can see the change and development in the rest of my 2D gallery.  I’m really looking forward to what a whole new year is going to bring.

Galleria of Awesome

Over the past couple weeks, there have been quite a few local galleries that have opened up where I could contribute and sell artwork.  Starting with a gallery that was made for the 25th Anniversary of The Legend of Zelda back in mis November, I got onto an art kick and wanted to continue to make more.  The next gallery was last week and it was for the New 52 comics of the DC Universe; my piece was for the new Animal Man comic.  Following both those events, I also attended some community art events, where we made characters based off of abstract words, my word was “Fear.”

24 Hour Comic Book Day

So as of recently, I haven’t got much sleep.  This past weekend was 24 Hour Comic Book Day, for those who don’t know, the objective of the event is to create a 24 page comic in 24 hours.  Other than that, there are no real rules, the comic can be about anything and the size of your team can be as many people as you can find.  The event started at noon Oct. 1st and ended noon Oct. 2.  Many people consider this an impossible task, I know, I’ve been told this by industry professionals.  However, I am happy to report that our little team of five artists have risen to the occasion and completed the task.

Our team proudly presents:

A Spaghetti Western about a bounty hunter tracking down another bounty. . . but wait, that sounds far too cliché, right?  Well give it a read, find out what makes our story so special.

Injun can be found here, enjoy!

A Couple Side Projects

To give a quick update about a couple things, I’m still a part of putting together some side projects to expand on my portfolio.  One is an animation, where I’m doing weapons and environment pieces. The other is a game. . . and that’s all I’m allowed to say for now.  So here’s some stuff to look at, the 3D weapons are for the animation and the and the 2D is for the game.

A 2D Journey

Over the past month or so, I have been practicing 2D art work.  I’ve been doing at least one picture every two days; one day to concept and sketch, the other to line and color.  While creating these pieces, I try and focus on a weak area in my drawing techniques.  Most pictures that I have been drawing thus far have not been deemed worthy enough for my portfolio, but I believe in the near future, there will be more and more updates to my 2D gallery.

Most of my older projects, practice artwork, and fun pieces can be found here.
